One of the fiercest gun-control advocates in Congress, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), pounced on the shooting massacre in Tucson Sunday, promising to introduce legislation as soon as Monday targeting the high-capacity ammunition the gunman used.

Facebook Group Accuses (Ithaca) Mayor of Stifling Speech

ITHACA, NYThe administrators of a Facebook page set up to support Ithaca Police Officer Bryan Bangs are accusing Mayor Carolyn Peterson and other city officials of attempting to suppress the groups free speech rights. Police officials are denying the accusation. Bangs was cleared by a Tompkins County Grand Jury in July of wrongdoing in the shooting death of Shawn Greenwood. The Grand Jury found that Bangs acted in self-defense while trying to arrest Greenwood, a convicted felon, under a warrant. Later that month, Bangs house was torched in an apparent arson. No one has yet been charged in that fire....

Hi everyone...I received an email from my WONDERFUL DIL, requesting prayer for the mom of a friend of hers. Please read on.~~~ Long story short...my mom collapsed wednesday night at home, her heart stopped and she wasn't breathing. we called 911 and they came and got her to the hospital where she has been unconcious and breathing on a ventilator since. they ran an EEG to see her brain activity and came up with good news and bad news. good news is that her brain stem is still showing activity, that controls your bodily functions, ability to breath, etc. She...
