Moses: First Union Boss, Epic Community Organizer! Listen To Stephen Lerner’s Retelling Of Exodus

Last week, The Blaze brought you exclusive footage of renowned Union organizer Steven Lerner asking college students to be arrested for leftist causes. This week, The Blaze brings you video of Lerner at the same Georgetown event, retelling his labor version of the story of Exodus. Exodus, meaning “going out” in Hebrew, tells how the children of Israel leave slavery in Egypt through the strength of God. They were being led by God’s messenger, the prophet Moses. Lerner began his retelling of the Israelite Exodus by calling it “the first great strike in history“: “So, anybody here celebrate Passover recently?...

Teachers' Union Fails Accounting 101 - reports revenues as profits

In an attack on the bill that would allow more charter online cyber schools, the American Federation of Teachers Michigan union claims that a private company that provides curriculum for charter cyber schools made $522 million in profits in 2011. In fact, K12 Inc. had total revenues — not profits — of $522.5 million, and a net income of $12.8 million, according to MarketWatch. “They are just confusing revenues for profits,” said Michael Van Beek, education policy director at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. “It blows up their argument that this company is going to make hundreds of millions...

A dubious milestone — the taking of $30 million from home health care worker paychecks — has been reached and the number is still climbing. The money taken from the workers by the Service Employees International Union is being taken despite Gov. Rick Snyder signing a law last month prohibiting the practice. Under a scheme perpetrated while Jennifer Granholm was governor, tens of thousands of so-called “home health care workers” were railroaded into the SEIU. As a result, dues from the taxpayer-provided checks of those to care for homebound patients has been flowing to the union. Continuation of this practice...

Home Health Care Dues Still Being Skimmed

Despite a bill being signed in to law by Gov. Rick Snyder that ends the "home health care dues skim," money is still being collected from worker paychecks. With May on the horizon, it is hoped "dues skim” will officially be brought to an end. Until then, the Michigan Capitol Confidential's skim-tracker will not be turned off. Senate Bill 1018, aimed at stopping the dues flow was passed by the legislature in March and signed into law by Gov. Snyder earlier this month. It is presumed that certain administrative steps need to be taken before the dues will finally stop...
